Recent events

Alright, so May 30th, 2009 was a great day! We headed up to Dayton area for the first annual Prodigy Paranormal Conference. This was our first conference where we were a vendor with our stuff set up and for sale. Everything was great fun and we met some incredible people from the Mothman expert Jeff Wamsley (sorry if that is misspelled) to the Bigfoot expert Joedy Cook who was featured on History Channel's Monster Quest. But the one I enjoyed the most would have to be James A. Willis, author of Wierd Ohio, Wierd Indiana, and many other Wierd titles. He is a great guy with a great sense of humor and has the ability to give one hell of a presentation! If you ever hear about this guy coming into your area and will be speaking be sure to go see him. He was great fun to listen to.

So overall the conference was a great success. Probably not the turn-out Prodigy expected as far as the number of guests that arrived, but a great time anyway. Excellent opportunity to network and meet awesome people. Before I stop talking about this, I want to mention Jeff Craig from Craig Cartography. He is in a the Ghosts of Ohio group with James Willis and created the Hidden Ohio Map and Guide. This is an incredible map and you should buy one now if you at all like the paranormal. But anyway, we should a map to almost every guest that walked past our table and everyone loved them. So thank you Jeff and keep going with your incredible maps!

The next thing I would like to mention is another book signing. As you all should know, if you read this blog, on June 13th we will be at the Miami Historical Society for a big event with a book signing and tour, yatta yatta yatta. HOWEVER, before that whole thing we will be at the Barnes and Noble in Newport Kentucky at 1:00pm to sign your book as well. So, if for some reason you are free that afternoon and busy that night, you can catch us there between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. This is the B&N in the Newport on the Levee plaza. So stop by and pick up a signed copy of Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio. See our website http://www.miamitownghosttours.com/ for details on any upcoming events and signings. Or you can call Miamitown Ghost Tours at 513-807-7195 with any questions.

Check back for details on the June 25th event. It's coming soon. It's CAPER event but we will be there and we will sign your copy of Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio.

Exciting things coming in 2009

For the year we have a lot planned and a lot to be planned. First off we will be attending our first ever Paranormal Conference on May 30th at the Prodigy Paranormal convention. We will have bumper stickers, coupons (better than seen on website), maps and more at the convention. Should be loads of fun and I hope to meet lots of new people there too.

Then, as you all know by now, our book Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio is being released in less than 15 days! June 8th is the big day. You can preorder your copy anytime at b&n.com, Amazon.com, and any other major retailer online!

Then less than a week from then we have our huge event in Miamitown (see post below). This event will blow any other Miamitown Ghost Tours event out of the water! We do not know what will happen but I do know that Fox 19 knows about the event as well as another major news station; I know that several radio stations are aware of the event; as well as several community newspapers from Cincy to Northern KY. We also know that several other major paranormal groups and individuals will be attending (not as vendors, but will be there).

A little later in the month, June 25th, CAPER (Cincinnati Area Paranormal Existence Research) is holding their 5th year anniversary party where we will be selling autographed copies of our book and possibly giving other things away. So you don't want to miss that! Check their website www.caper.pararesearch.org for all the event details.

And after that everything is unclear as to exact dates, but we will be seen in Cincy Magazine (Aug/Sept), heard on Paranormal Outreach Radio in Sept. as a guest (asprn.com on Wed. at 9:30pm), and another break-through Cincinnati based paranormal radio show (details to come), and then possibly Q102, and 96.5 pure rock (this is still in discussion). Then in August we will be a vendor at another huge Paranormal Conference in Dayton area. And in October we hope to be an author at the Books by the Banks festival at the Duke Energy Center (pending approval).

And who's to say that Halloween won't be bigger than this upcoming event on the 13th? Halloween is already in the workings and it could be the biggest, badest paranormal event Cincinnati has ever seen! But I don't know what will happen, so we just need to wait. But we have connections, fun and interesting people.

This is only a taste of what is to come in 2009! We have yet to hear from our publisher where all the other book signings will be. Keep in touch with us and your local Barnes and Nobles or Borders. I bet we will be there eventually! And there is so much more that could potentially happen.

May 2nd, 10:00pm tour

An excellent evening for a ghost tour. The air was slightly chilled and the streets were quite. We walked down the street with cameras in hand catching anything in sight. At the very start I took a picture into the cemetery and got an odd smoke-like mist raising or falling into a grave. There was someone smoking but I would not have guessed they were close enough to cause such a picture. It will be coming soon onto the evidence page on our website.

The six person family that joined us came from the Indiana/Illinois border and had a great time. Unfortunately the spirits did not set off their EMF detectors, but they could feel something. Even I could feel something was near. They video taped the entire time, snapped at least 20 pictures and complimented how great the tour was. They are ghost tour enthusiasts; they know the good from the bad.

It was an excellent night and hopefully they will have some evidence to send to us when all is reviewed. Come take your tour today! It only takes one call to 513-807-7195!

Miamitown Ghost Tours intro..the who, the what, the when and the why

Have you ever noticed there are no walking ghost tours in Cincinnati? The closest one is in Dayton, I think. Once a year or so there are a couple others in Hamilton and a bus tour downtown, but that's it. Now there is the Miamitown Ghost Tours! An hour long walk through the haunted history of Miamitown, Ohio. Our tours run all year long and is suitable for most families.

Founded in 2006 by brothers Michael and Jeff Morris, Miamitown Ghost Tours has brought a new life into an otherwise dead town. Once a striving town and then an almost famous strip of antique stores, Miamitown has become a strip of shut down, falling apart 19th century buildings. And with the threat of big business destroying it all, we hope to bring new life into the town. With a spot on the Hidden Ohio Map and Guide, a new book being released in June of '09, and several other media events, we are bringing life into Miamitown.

We have seen several professional ghost investigators (affiliated with C.A.P.E.R), other ghost tour founders, and hundreds of tourists and locals. Everyone has enjoyed the tour greatly and returned for a second, sometimes third or fourth, tour. The tours are affordable, fun, informative, and haunting! Admission is: Adults - $10 and children 13 and under - $5!

Every year we hold special events throughout the year. Some of the past years' events included sold out tours with C.A.P.E.R showing their equipment and allowing people to use the equipment along the tour. Halloween always ends with a bang. Oftentimes, on Halloween we will venture into a store or home and investigate. Coming in June we will be holding many events for the release of our book, "Haunted Cincinnati and Southwest Ohio". Check our website for the information on these events.

So come see who we are and what all the rave is about. Leave a comment, review, or whatever you feel. Check our events page on our website for other peoples' reviews (www.miamitownghosttours.com/events.html).
